Pothos are NOT basic!

Epipremnum, or Pothos are my favorite genus of plant to grow!  They remind me of happiness and sunshine.  In some areas the Manjula is also known as the Happy Leaf!  There are many varieties of Pothos, but not all Epipremnum are Pothos (just thought I'd add that!).  I grow quite a few different varieties and I'll share a few tidbits of what I've learned about these cool plants over the years!  The pictures shown are a few of my very own Pothos plants!  If you wanna grow any varieties below just give me a shout and I'll share the deets!

How often should I water my Pothos?

Let me just add first that Pothos are such sweet plants.  They'll do all they can to grow even surviving some neglect such as over/under watering, low light, and low humidity. (Pothos aren't picky about humidity though; they adapt well to most home's normal humidity levels)  However, over-watering will eventually lead to root rot, under-watering will cause your Pothos to never thrive, and low lighting will make for such an unattractive plant as the growth will be leggy and raggedy looking with NO LEAVES. It's best to water your Pothos when the top two inches of soil is dry; and always water thoroughly. Allow your Pothos to dry out a bit before watering again.  They don't mind at all!

Am I supposed to feed my Pothos?

I feed my Pothos all the time as mine are greedy little thangs!  However, the best rule of thumb is to feed your  Pothos during Spring and Summer using a diluted mix of all-purpose plant food.  If you're a person that forgets to feed or kinda just wanna make it easier to do so other alternatives such as plant food spikes are also available. Just be careful not to overfeed your Pothos; as overfeeding causes leaf and root burn!

How often should I re-pot my Pothos?

Sometimes folks re-pot their Pothos every Spring but that is certainly not necessary.  If you have a larger pot that wouldn't be easy to re-pot or you prefer not to your Pothos will be perfectly fine to continue growing in its current pot; just snip it regularly to maintain your plant's health.  Always re-pot your Pothos using a well draining soil mix.
